Veterinary Pet Surgery

We're Here to Explain Every Procedure for Your Pet

At Bridgewater Veterinary Clinic we understand uncertain or uncomfortable feelings surrounding surgery, especially when it comes to our pets. Not only do we take every precaution necessary to ensure your animal a safe and effective procedure, but we help you in facilitating a seamless and gentle recovery at home.

Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery involves any surgery that does not concern bones or joints. These surgeries are meant to improve bodily functions or conduct repairs. Examples of a soft tissue surgery include: tumor removal, hernia repair, and more.

Spay/Neuter Procedure

There are significant medical and behavioral benefits to your pet undergoing the spay/neuter procedure. If you are wondering if this procedure is right for you and your pet, consider the following:

  • Female spaying can increase your pet's lifespan by decreasing infections in the uterus and breast tumors, which statistically have a great chance of being malignant. Spaying will also prevent heat cycles in females, so you won't have to deal with the "yowling" at all hours accompanied by the frequent urination that often times winds up where it doesn't belong (think anywhere in your home!).
  • Male neutering can also increase longevity as it eliminates the potential of testicular cancer as well as developing certain prostate issues along the way. It also puts a cap on spraying (fowl smelling urine in inappropriate places) and certain aggressive behaviors.

All of our veterinary medical services are tailored to the individual needs of each and everyone of our pet patients. Give us a call today at (508) 697-3831 to discuss your pet's health or to set up an appointment.
